Parental Involvement

Confidentiality and Privacy
We are committed to protecting the confidentiality and privacy of our clients. Our confidentiality policies are designed to create a safe space where clients can express themselves openly without fear of judgment or disclosure. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for more information on how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
Possible exceptions to confidentiality may occur in the following circumstances:
-
- If the Mental Health Counsellor becomes aware that the client is experiencing harm or is in significant danger of harm or neglect, they will notify the appropriate authorities, as mandated by law.
- If the Mental Health Counsellor suspects that the client may pose a risk of physical harm to themselves or others, they may need to involve other individuals, such as family members, emergency services, or friends, to ensure the client’s safety or the safety of others.
- To meet professional and ethical standards, Counsellors undergo supervision from senior colleagues. During these sessions, your personal information remains confidential, and supervisors uphold the same level of confidentiality as your Counsellor.
- In the rare event that information about you may be subpoenaed by a court.
If any of these circumstances do arise, the Counsellor will, where possible, discuss with the client regarding the need to breach confidentiality.
